Therapy, Fitness, Yoga, and Mentorship for Adults Living with Neurological Conditions
Raquel took her first yoga class in 1995, and it transformed how she practiced physical therapy and how she approached life. Yoga originated in ancient India and the practice encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual aspects. It is a systematic approach of physical postures, breathing techniques, meditation, ethical principles and self-awareness practices to achieve harmony and balance within oneself and their environment. These practices are adaptable to any body, any ability, any age for finding inner peace and a deeper understanding of oneself in whatever situation one may find themselves.

Raquel has over 30 years of experience as a physical therapist specializing in neurological rehabilitation. Physical therapy provides a scientific, evidence-based framework for understanding how neurological conditions affect movement and function. She recognized that yoga’s emphasis on body awareness, improved breath control, and enhanced mental concentration makes it particularly effective for neurological rehabilitation. She completed her training as a registered yoga teacher in 2012 and continues to pursue education related to yoga for special populations. Raquel is grateful for her teachers who inspire and guide her practice. She continues to learn and grow from her teachers and her students.
