Being discharged or graduating from physical therapy should feel like a step forward, yet many adults living with complex medical conditions are left asking, "What comes next?" Whether you are adapting to a neurological diagnosis like Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), or Parkinson’s Disease, or managing secondary health needs like bone health, metabolic changes, or nervous system dysregulation, your wellness journey shouldn't stall when formal care ends.
Lifelong wellness requires a proactive approach. As our bodies evolve over time, changes in muscle strength, bone density, and nervous system responses mean our fitness routines must adapt along with us. But how do you safely build a program that evolves with your changing needs?
You do not have to figure this out alone. I founded Austin Re-Fit to offer a safe, expert-supervised bridge between traditional rehabilitation and lifelong fitness. Working alongside your existing medical care, to guide you on best practices to safeguard your independence and whole person wellness.
How I Support Your Journey:
Personalized Home Practice Resources: I provide tailored tools and resources based on decades of experience in neurological medical care and study of the yogic traditions so you can practice safely and comfortably at home.
Building Lasting Habits: Your dedicated participation in performing your home program is key to achieving your wellness goals. We will partner to develop small, positive habits that fit seamlessly into your life to support your long-term health and well-being.
What You Can Expect:
Integration (Tailored, Specialized Care): You gain a dedicated partner who understands the complexities of chronic medical and neurological issues. I blend the clinical science of neurological recovery with the holistic, mind-body-spirit wisdom of yoga to guide your wellness path.
Adaptability (Safe, Adaptive Movement): Whether through adaptive yoga or physical therapy every session is customized to match your body’s unique energy and mobility on any given day. I use props to support and to challenge and listen to your needs.
Resilience (Holistic Approach): Resilience is the capacity to adapt, recover, and grow through life's complex challenges. Together we will navigate your long-term wellness by integrating physical movement, breath, mindfulness, and lifestyle that support you as a whole person, empowering you to move forward with strength and joy.
Your care should be as accessible and stress-free as possible.
